NESAL on Pause: A Strategic Timeout

NESAL, GO’s ambitious new initiative, is being temporarily postponed as we address some internal management challenges with community groups and business partners. We’ve also observed a noticeable lack of passion from some teams and organizers within the current esports market, which has impacted the overall quality of engagement.

This pause allows us to reassess and refine NESAL’s foundational elements, including the rulebooks for each esports title we host now and plan to in the future. Additionally, we’re working on enhancing our scoring and ranking systems to ensure teams receive the recognition they truly deserve on our platform.

Our goal at GO and NESAL is to foster a vibrant, supportive ecosystem for esports in South Africa. With new initiatives and funding partners on the horizon, we’re committed to creating the next wave of platform support that elevates esports and the geek culture within SA. GO Geekfestivals: Looking Forward to 2025

Hello, everyone! We’re here with an update on GO Geekfestivals for 2025. Although we’re eager to bring you another exciting year of NESAL tournaments, Geek Festivals, and workshops, our planning for 2024 hasn’t reached the budget and KPI targets necessary to kickstart next year’s events just yet.

However, stay tuned! We’re committed to hosting unforgettable events again soon. We’re currently looking at late Q3 2025 or potentially a three-season launch in 2026, which will feature a refreshed NESAL initiative and an even grander lineup.

We’re deeply grateful to all the amazing geeks who joined us in 2024. Our focus is to return with renewed energy and an experience you won’t forget. Thank you for your support, and watch this space for future announcements!
